Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using MealMap. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use MealMap.
1. The Service
MealMap is an online meal planning application that allows users to manage recipes, create meal plans, generate shopping lists, and track freezer inventory. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use MealMap. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have the permission of a parent or guardian.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when registering.
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Free Trial
New accounts receive a 30-day free trial with access to all features. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, continued access requires a paid subscription. We reserve the right to modify the trial period at any time.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis at the rates published on our pricing page. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Access continues until the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued.
- Price changes: We will give reasonable notice of any price changes before they take effect.
- Failed payments: If a payment fails, we may suspend access to your account until payment is resolved.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use MealMap only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Use the service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
- Upload content that is offensive, harmful, or infringes any third-party rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or extract content from the service.
- Resell or redistribute access to the service without our written permission.
7. Your Content
You retain ownership of the recipes, meal plans, and other content you create within MealMap. By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to store and display it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload (including imported recipes) does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
8. Global Recipe Library
MealMap may make a curated set of recipes available in a shared library. Recipes published to the library by administrators are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may copy them to your own recipe collection but may not republish or distribute them outside the service.
9. Intellectual Property
All software, design, trademarks, and content that form part of MealMap (excluding your content) are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our name, logo, or branding without our prior written consent.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
MealMap is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the service, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, MealMap and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
12. Third-Party Services
MealMap integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payments) and OpenAI (recipe import assistance). We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and policies.
13. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where changes are material, notify you by email. Continued use of MealMap after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
